An ancient way of solving problems!

Nov 13, 2020

I want to share something rather unusual with you, a perspective that can potentially change the way you look at life.

It is the biblical story of Daniel in the Lion's Den.
If you are unfamiliar with the story here is a quick summary:

"Daniel was a Prophet who continued to pray to his God against the express command of King Darius.
As a result, Daniel was thrown into a lions' den to be devoured by the hungry lions.
But It is said that Daniel, while locked in the lions’ den, turned his back upon the hungry beasts, and instead, he turned his attention toward the light coming from above and simply prayed.
The starving lions remained powerless to hurt the prophet
Daniel’s faith in God was so great that it finally brought about his freedom!"

To the uninitiated mind, the fact that Daniel survived is a miracle from God.
But what if there is more than met the eye?

The story of Daniel is the story of every man/woman.

The Lion metaphorically represent the challenge/problem/fear/disaster/sickness that all eventually face in our lives.

The Light represents the Desire that we have. It's the solution/success/health/breakthrough/Love...

The Prayer is the symbol of faith and belief while affirming what we desire will become manifest.

The crucial thing that Daniel did is that he turned his back on the Lion (danger/problem) and instead faced the Light (desire for freedom).

Common wisdom and would tell you no never do such a thing!
Give your attention to the Lion if you wish to survive somehow, isn't it?

And that is exactly what most people do with their own Lion (your problem, worries, challenges...)
We give ALL our energy, focus, attention, to our problems.
We talk about it, blog about it, whine, cry, pray, and constantly remind ourselves of it.

Complaining about our problems is our greatest addiction.

Instead, why don't we turn our attention away from our problems and focus on the light (finding a solution)?
Why don't we give our energy and creative abilities toward what we want?

Einstein also stayed this truth when he said:
" You cannot solve a problem from the same level of consciousness that created it."

Quantum physics tell us that:
"The simple act of observing is an act of creating."

Affirming and energising your problem rarely makes them go away, instead you will only get more to validate your current perception of reality.

This is the true wisdom behind Daniel's story is his act of facing the light.
Daniel understood that his power of attention was his best chance of freedom.

Turning toward the light and praying, is an act of embodying the desired state of consciousness: freedom. (Different from the one that created it)
And therefore he became free.

What's the practical application you may ask:
Acknowledge your problems but don't idolize them.
Instead, focus your attention and energy toward the end results that what you want instead.
This will invite new ideas, new thoughts, new solutions to help you achieve that outcome.
Remember that you have to think greater than your current situation for you to become free from it. (see my Facebook video on this subject)

Don't let your Lions eat you.

Let me know what you think.

Until next time may the light be with you,

Nenad
