I want to share something rather unusual with you, a perspective that can potentially change the way you look at life.
It is the biblical story of Daniel in the Lion's Den.
If you are unfamiliar with the story here is a quick summary:
"Daniel was a Prophet who continued to pray to his God against the express command of King Darius.
As a result, Daniel was thrown into a lions' den to be devoured by the hungry lions.
But It is said that Daniel, while locked in the lions’ den, turned his back upon the hungry beasts, and instead, he turned his attention toward the light coming from above and simply prayed.
The starving lions remained powerless to hurt the prophet
Daniel’s faith in God was so great that it finally brought about his freedom!"
To the uninitiated mind, the fact that Daniel survived is a miracle from God.
But what if there is more than met the eye?
The story of Daniel is the story of every man/woman.
The Lion metaphorically represent the...
Have you ever noticed how words affect our moods and experience in life?
A lot of our attitudes, state of mind, emotions and results are greatly affected by the meaning we give to what happens in our lives.
And often enough the only thing we can do is to choose consciously what this experience means to us.
This is where our power lies.
Now, this can seem easier said than done.
So I want to share with you 3 words that, for many people, are negative triggers that instantly put us in a negative state and create suffering in our minds.
Those 3 words are: Loss, Less, Never
Stop and think about it for a second.
When people are suffering it’s often become they think they have :
LESS: Less time, less money less attention, less love, less success…
Especially in this social media area where we can compare ourselves with others all the time.
We see people have MORE and we instantly feel like we have LESS.
Or something happened and they’ve LOST...
‘It’s 10% what happened and 90% how you react to it.’
Every day, at every moment in our life, thing are happening, many of wish we have no control over.
All we can control is our own response to those events.
It’s clear that we don’t see the world as it is, but as we are, the world is only a reflection of our inner world.
Every time that sometimes happens in our life, we quickly- and unconsciously most of the time- give it a meaning. It’s what I like to call the story that we tell ourselves about what happened.
For example: ‘He told me that I could lose some weight.’ ( That’s what happened) VS ‘ I’m fat! Clearly, he thinks that I’m not attractive. He doesn’t love me, I feel so bad, I’m never good enough…’ ( The story)
Can you see the possible challenge with this made-up story?
The real challenge that comes from this story is that when we focus on it, we get more of it.
Have you ever wondered why you do what you do?
Why you see and act differently than other people?
Why is it that 2 persons who go through the same event, can have a completely different meaning of that event?
In this brief article, I will explore how our mind works to create our interpretation ( the meaning ) of events that happen moment to moment in our lives, which in turn affect how we feel and act.
Let’s get straight into it. I will use the diagram below to shed some light on what happens in our mind and how/why we perceive the world in our unique ways.
Have you ever wonder what hypnosis really is?
I could ask a 100 different person and would probably get 100 different answers.
I like seeing the look on people’s face when I tell them that I’m a certified Interactive Hypnotherapist.
For many people, hypnosis remains a mysterious word that is often linked with ‘mind control’, ‘unconsciousness’ and other mainstream misconceptions that often come from Hollywood movies and shows.
The reality is much simpler and has nothing of mysterious. Hypnosis, simply put, is a natural state of relaxation, often called a ‘trance state’. That’s it! But there is more to it.
If hypnosis is simply a state of relaxation, then where did all the misconception come from? What about stage hypnosis you may wonder.
Here is where the magic happens. Hypnosis allows us to access the power of our subconscious mind- where all our memories, beliefs, habits, emotions, self-image—are stored, and creates a...
